The Baby Steps website uses very strong photo imagery of babies in order to provoke a response of love, hope, and the significance of new life.

Images are not just merely images when used properly; they are able to affect people more deeply than just words. Words can communicate as well and but images can communicate meaning more quickly, in a different way. When text and strong images are combined they congeal to form a very powerful message.

As well as creating a powerful message to convey something properly used images can have many other more practical uses to improve upon a website design. Some of these would be to add color and compliment the design, to add a more personal touch, or to just improve the look the look of the site.
